In 2005 Himalayan Kingdoms launched its first brochure dedicated to schools, colleges and youth groups. Over the past 18 years we have organised trips for schools and youth-groups to a variety of destinations, and have drawn on this experience to set up a range of Discovery Expeditions, aimed at 15-25 year olds, offering exciting treks across the world's great mountain ranges including Everest base camp treks and China treks.
Expeditions do not need to cost the earth, and you can view some recent examples of expedition itineraries and prices below. Many groups also chose to incorporate a community project or local-school visit into their Everest Base Camp trek or any other trek they're doing, and we have a number of charities we support who would be delighted to work with a visiting school or youth-group.
All the young people who have trekked with Himalayan Kingdoms in the past have returned with a huge enthusiasm for the outdoors. Discovery Expeditions awaken curiosity about other cultures, a good example are our China treks, which provide an incredible insight into this ancient and diverse country.
They also provide an opportunity to improve individual self-esteem, create new friendships and above all, expedition members arrive home with a newfound passion for the world they live in.
We understand just how busy today's teachers and youth-leaders are, and aim to minimise the time, stress and effort required in organising a trip. We will also support them in managing the responsibility placed on their shoulders in leading a group of young people on adventurous activities overseas whether they choose an Everest base camp trek, one of our China Treks or any of the many other expeditions we offer.
